The Falchion is Sophia's first "proper" weapon, obtained automatically in the Chapter 2 Felons carnival.

Location
In sub-chapter 2 "The carnival", it's obtained automatically when you interact with the barrel by the boat at the carnival's water edge — this also unlocks the grapnel (the wall-climbing tool).
Hero's Blade (DLC)
Pre-order Heritage Pack owners get the Hero's Blade at the same spot, with a technique identical to the Falchion (effectively a reskin). Note: the DLC Hero's Blade doesn't count toward any trophy.
Fixed Oct 6: a bug where the Falchion could disappear after installing DLC was fixed in the October 6 Bug Fix Update — update your game if you're missing it.
Tips
- Bonus damage after a crit makes it a solid general weapon for a crit build.
- Score one kill immediately after getting each new blade to avoid redoing the Adaptable achievement later.
