Resonance boss guide

The game's "bosses" come in two kinds: the one true boss fight (the final Minotaur), and the special-mechanic elite enemies that recur throughout (Creature / Brute / Corrupted / Petrified). This page breaks down each type.

Final Boss: Minotaur (Chapter 13)

The final fight at the end of Chapter 13 As One is a full-mechanics check. Three core moves:

  1. Dual-timeline "Resonance" reshapes the arena — switch between the medieval and Minoan timelines to alter the arena structure and create positioning/paths
  2. The light orb exposes the weakness — use it to reveal the boss's opening and land damage in the window
  3. Precise parries keep you alive — the boss hits hard, so you must rely on well-timed parries

Recommended loadout:

  • Khopesh (Deep Bleed damage over time) — the most reliable for bosses
  • Xiphos (Parry Break, much stronger parry stagger) — aggressive parry build, but no block and low margin for error

The hard part is juggling multiple mechanics at once: dodging the boss, switching timelines to reshape the arena, and finding light-orb windows. Get comfortable with the parry rhythm first.

The Creature (recurring monster)

An unkillable presence that appears repeatedly from Chapter 6 on — you can only flee, hide and go around, never kill it:

  • Light is protection: lamps, light pillars and light orbs are your safe zone — advance along the light
  • Stay crouched to sneak: while crouching it won't chase you, so you can search for nearby collectibles freely
  • Run the right route when chased: follow the blue floor lines / light-point hints, don't flail around
  • Linked achievements: Close Call (5 narrow escapes), Unpredictable (ditch it across gaps 25 times)

Brute (elite heavy)

  • Red attacks can't be blocked at first — dodge only
  • Unlocking Aegean Deflect mastery lets you parry red attacks — the game-changer for parry builds against Brutes
  • They hit soldiers when enraged: use this for the Cannon Fodder achievement (bait a Brute into killing a soldier while enraged)

Corrupted

  • They grab Sophia — break free with a Focus Attack when grabbed (linked to the Excessive Force achievement)
  • Keep your focus gauge stocked and release it the moment you're grabbed

Petrified

  • Weak to light: shining light destroys them (linked to the They Were People achievement, 100 cumulative)
  • They wake when you get close — stay crouched and go around in stealth sections, or handle them from range with light

Presences (ancient warriors, Chapter 13)

The Minoan ancient warriors in Chapter 13 interact with the light-orb and dual-timeline mechanics. The Kopis's combo stagger works wonders against them.
